Tis the season of giving!
Christmas trees are in their stands, Christmas lights are hung on the outside of houses, and the smell of yuletide is in the air… Christmas is upon us! What a joyous time of the year it is! Christmas is by FAR my favorite holiday of the year. I absolutely LOVE everything about the holiday season! Well, maybe not the crowds at the stores, but everything else I do love! – Great Dog Organizations.
Welcome to the readers who have visited my article, start joining our community to share experiences on how to take care of dogs,
recipes, good stories, attractive videos, Interesting engravings are you captured on your dog. I am here to help you make this happen, make your life and your dog the best. You can support us here.
My favorite thing about the holidays is how so many people are in the giving spirit. We all get a chance to reflect on how fortunate we are for everything in our lives. Sure, there are things that could be better. But for the most part, we have things pretty good.
However, there are many people dogs out there that don’t have it as good as us. Did you know that the majority of dogs that end up in shelters or abandoned are the result of people claiming the dogs have bad behavior? That’s why it’s so important to properly train your dog!
During this time of the year, I always make sure to donate to several dog organizations that either train or rescue dogs. There are so many great dog organizations to give to, but here are the ones that I usually give some money to
America’s VetDogs has helped to better the lives of several of my relatives. They train dogs to help serve the needs of disabled veterans. They provide guide dogs for individuals who are blind or have low vision; hearing dogs for those who have lost their hearing later in life; service dogs for those with other physical disabilities; facility dogs as part of the rehabilitation process in military and VA hospitals, and PTSD service dogs to help mitigate the effects of PTSD in an effort to provide the emotional and physical support needed.
The organization does really great work. You can read more about them and donate to them on their website.
The Humane Society of the United States
The Humane Society of the United States provides hands-on care and services to more than 100,000 animals each year. One of their primary aims is to educate and train local organizations. They are the leading animal advocacy organization, seeking a humane world for people and animals alike. They work for the betterment of all animals, from dogs and cats to farm animals.
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was the first humane society to be established in North America, and is, today, one of the largest in the world. The organization operates on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans and must be protected under the law. Their organizational reach spans across the country, has more than 2 million supporters, and was founded in 1866.
Bissell Pet Foundation
The Bissell Pet Foundation was designed to address the growing problem of displaced, unwanted, and homeless animals in the United States and to help every pet find a home. The Foundation recognizes the huge need of animal welfare organizations that struggle with limited resources but continue to work tirelessly on the front lines to save lives. This is one of the more hands-on organizations out there and is incredibly well run.
Best Friends Animal Society
The Best Friends Animal Society’s mission is to bring about a time where there are No More Homeless Pets. They want to end the killing in America’s animal shelters and work to give every animal a home. They are trying to accomplish this by building community programs and partnerships all across the nation. They operate on the guiding principles of the Golden Rule, kindness, positive influence, great leadership, authenticity, and transparency.
